A Leap of Faith | My First Stop-Motion Claymation Adventure
A great accomplishment shouldn’t be the end of the road, just the starting point for the next leap forward. — Harvey Mackay
Creating A Leap of Faith was exactly that—a leap into something completely new. This short stop-motion claymation film was directed, produced, filmed, and edited by me, and it marks a moment of growth I’m genuinely proud of.
The story is a simple but meaningful one. Everyone—at some point—feels that hesitation, that fear of stepping into something unfamiliar. It’s human nature. This little claymation captures that feeling through a gentle, stop/start visual analogy, exploring what it really means to take that first brave step into the unknown.
I’d never worked with claymation before, so every part of the process—from sculpting characters to painstakingly moving them frame by frame—was a learning curve. But, it was so exciting. There was something really beautiful about slowing things down and allowing each moment, each movement, to tell its own tiny part of the story.
In the end, the theme of the film mirrored my own experience in making it. Taking a leap into something unfamiliar felt daunting at first, but it turned into a project I’m incredibly proud of. It reminded me that new territory is where growth and creativity thrive.
Here’s to more leaps ahead! Watch the short film below.
